We clear the entire system by hand, every run, corner and outlet, then flush each downspout with water to confirm it drains freely all the way to the ground. A 2,000 square foot roof sheds roughly 1,200 gallons in a one-inch storm, and every gallon of it has to reach a downspout. Debris is bagged and removed, not blown onto your lawn or into the landscaping. If a downspout is clogged solid, we disassemble it at the elbows and clear it rather than leaving it half-blocked. The visit ends with water running through the whole system so you can see it working.

While the gutters are open we check pitch with a level, test every hanger, look for seams that have opened and end caps that are weeping, and note fascia that feels soft behind the gutter. You get a short written summary with photos. Small problems caught in the fall, a loose hanger or a dried seam, are cheap to fix; the same problems found after a winter of ice are not.

What is included in every visit
- Hand removal of all debris
- Leaves, needles, seeds, shingle grit and nests are scooped from every run and corner; nothing is left to wash into the downspouts.
- Downspout flushing
- Each downspout is flushed from the top and checked at the discharge; clogged leaders are opened at the elbows and cleared. A 2x3 leader carries about half of what a 3x4 does, so if yours backs up every season we say so and price the upgrade.
- Bagged, hauled-away cleanup
- Debris goes into bags and leaves with us. Walkways, decks and beds are rinsed if anything drops.
- Pitch and hanger check
- Runs are checked against a level for standing water. Pitch should fall about a quarter inch every ten feet toward the outlet, and hangers should sit no more than 24 inches apart. Anything outside that goes on your summary.
- Seam and end-cap inspection
- Open seams and weeping end caps are photographed and priced separately if you want them sealed.
- Roof-edge look
- We note lifted shingles, exposed drip edge or soft fascia we can see from the gutter line.

What determines the cost of gutter cleaning?
Cleaning is priced per visit and depends on:
- Number of stories and roof pitch
- Total linear feet of gutter and number of downspouts
- How much debris has accumulated: first cleanings after years of neglect take longer
- Whether gutter guards need to be removed and reinstalled
We quote every job in writing after a free on-site visit. Gutter pricing depends on measurements and roof conditions that can only be confirmed in person, so we don’t publish price lists. There is no obligation.

Do I need to be home?
No. As long as we can reach the gutters and an outside spigot, we can complete the visit and send your summary and photos afterward.
Do you clean gutters with guards installed?
Yes. Screens and perforated covers are lifted, cleaned beneath and refitted. Micro-mesh guards are brushed off and the downspouts checked.
What if you find damage during the cleaning?
We photograph it, include it in your summary, and give you a separate written price. Nothing is repaired without your approval.
Can I set up recurring gutter cleaning?
Yes. Most clients choose a spring-and-fall plan; we schedule the visits, remind you a few days ahead and bill per visit.
